Doing Shit I Shouldn’t Do

how do you just stop doing shit you know you’re not supposed to do?

I wrote a long time ago about Akratic behavior, acting against your own better judgement.

That means like eating horrible food even though you know you shouldn’t. Gambling and losing a ton of money even though you shouldn’t.

Getting fatter, broker.

I did all that in 2025.

It was a really poor year in both regards.

But how the hell do you just stop doing the things you know you’re not supposed to do?

It beats me.

The only thing I’ve ever quit cold turkey was biting my nails. I don’t even really know how.

The COVID pandemic made biting your nails a potential death sentence (that’s dramatic, but you know)…so I just stopped doing it. Somehow I kept not doing it.

And then I just never did it again.

So what’s it going to take for me to just stop doing things that I know I’m not supposed to be doing now?

Asking for a friend.
